When will Night Owl Academy open?
We're completing zoning and Georgia DECAL licensing. Once licensure is issued, we'll notify the interest list first with the actual opening date.
Is overnight childcare licensed and legal in Georgia?
Yes. Evening and night-time childcare is regulated by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) under Chapter 591-1-1. Night Owl Academy is completing that licensing process before opening.
What kinds of plans will you offer?
We're designing recurring weekly plans for families with consistent overnight schedules, a drop-in membership for occasional overnight needs with priority access, and availability-permitting occasional drop-in care. Specifics will be shared with the interest list once finalized.
How much will it cost?
Pricing will be finalized as licensing is completed, and shared with the interest list before public announcement. Joining the list has no cost and no obligation.
What ages will you serve?
The center is designed for the children of shift-working families. Specifics will be shared as licensing is completed.
Is there any cost or obligation to join the interest list?
No. Joining the list is free, with no obligation. We only contact you about opening and your interest, and we don't share your information.
Who is behind Night Owl Academy?
Eric Kirby, LPN — a Licensed Practical Nurse who's worked overnight in clinical settings and watched the overnight-childcare gap firsthand. The center is being built for fellow shift workers in Northwest Georgia.
How will I know when you open?
The interest list is the first notification. We'll email confirmed contacts as licensing milestones complete and the moment we can welcome families.
